Oil changes can be one of the easiest thing that can be done to a vehicle in order to keep it running good but most people would rather take it to a person to do or don't do it at all. This can be a very messy job if not done in the right way. To do this job you will need a drain pan to drain the old oil into, you will need the new oil and oil filter you will need four to five quarts of synthetic or regular. Also you will need a socket set and maybe a oil filter wrench.

To do this job you will want to make sure that the vehicle is sat for awhile without running because the oil will be very hot if not done. there are various was that you can do this, the way i do it is to get under the car and locate the oil pane the way to do this is by looking at the bottom of the car for a pan that has a bolt at the bottom of it. You will want to bring the pan with you and place it under the pan but from my experiences you should place it a little above the hole because the pressure will push the oil in that direction. once all the oil is done draining you will want to put the bolt back in the pan. then moving onto the filter these can be a pain because they will tighten because of the heat. That is why it is good to have a filter wrench which will give you some leverage so that it will release. there will be some oil that will spill that's why it is important to keep the filter upright. if some spills on the floor you can use things like kitties liter that will absorber the oil and it can be reused multiple times. Once you have the filter out then you should place the new one in but before doing so i usually take some of the new oil and dip my finger in it and put some around the rubber seal then i put it in when doing this you done want to put it in to tight but tight enough the easy way to do this is by using your hands not the wrench. when the filter is in check to make sure you put the bolt in and then put the required amount of oil into the vehicle there is a fill tube for the oil at the top of the motor with a oil symbol usually at the top of the lid. when the oil is placed in the car then start the vehicle and look for leaks.Remember when checking your oil do it when the vehicles is cooled off because the oil expands and is in the motor and having it cool will let everything settle. Also remember that you should never overfill the vehicle with oil.
